Dr Don Hamson has fifteen years investment management experience, most recently as Head of Active Equities, Asia Pacific (and as a member of the global Senior Management Group) at State Street Global Advisors. Whilst at State Street, he led a team of portfolio managers running long and long/short active and enhanced Australian equity portfolios, successfully launching the first 130/30 long short strategy within State Street.

As Chief Investment Officer at Westpac Investment Management, he was involved in forming BT Financial Group and was also a member of their Investment Committee. He started his career with Arthur Andersen before becoming a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Queensland, and a member of the Investment Committee at Queensland Investment Corporation.
