Wilson HTM Investment Group has a long standing tradition of supporting the communities in which it works.

Tradition of charitable giving

This tradition began in 1928 when Henry Monteith, whose son-in-law Bill Wilson established Wilson and Co, donated funds to the Boy Scouts for training facilities. Today, Wilson HTM Investment Group works with a number of charitable organisations across the country, providing cash donations for community programs and sponsoring public events. The company is the major sponsor of the Brisbane to the Gold Coast Cycle Challenge which supports Diabetes Australia (QLD) and the Heart Foundation, and is a Founding Partner and financial manager of Brisbane's annual "Big City Barbecue" charity fundraising event. Wilson HTM also supports staff involvement in a number of charitable running, riding, racing and rowing events across Australia.

Workplace Giving

Wilson HTM Investment Group also provides opportunities for staff to make regular pre-tax donations to charities of their choice, through a Workplace Giving Programme. Donations are matched on a 1:1 basis, and more than $60,000 was distributed to 35 charities in 2007.

The Wilson HTM Foundation

In 2001 the Wilson HTM Investment Group launched the Wilson HTM Foundation, which has the aim of working with beneficiaries to 'make a difference' to the communities in which we live and work. The Foundation provides annual grants to community organisations and charities which provide people and causes with support networks, advice and practical help to relieve suffering and hardship.

Some recent beneficiaries include:

  • Australian Chamber Orchestra - Helping disadvantaged school children through musical education;
  • Drug Arm - Drug and alcohol abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation;
  • The Taronga Foundation - supporting the world's first successful captive breeding programme for the critically endangered Booroolong Frog at Taronga Zoo;
