Workplace Giving
All WIG employees are invited to join Workplace Giving, through which the company matches employee donations made via monthly pre tax payroll deductions. Matching is done on a dollar for dollar basis up to $3,000 per employee per annum.
All employees are eligible, and any Australian charity of choice which holds tax deductibility status can be a program recipient.
The program has been offered since late 2006, and in the 2010 / 2011 financial year alone resulted in more than $102,000 being distributed to 48 charities across the country. During that period the most popular beneficiary of the Workplace Giving Program was the Wilson HTM Foundation. In addition in February 2011 a special "one off appeal" in support of Queensland and Victorian flood and cyclone victims raised $55,000.
Managed by an independent Board of Directors, the Foundation has distributed more than $1.5 million to date. The bulk of donations are gifted to charities supported by employees who are actively volunteering their time, skills and energy.
